CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team saw its 2025 season come to a close following an 8-0 setback at the hands of Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Bluffton finished with a 7-11 record, including a 2-7 mark in the Heartland Conference. MSJ wrapped up conference play with a record of 8-0-1 and the Lions will enter the upcoming HCAC Tournament as the top seed.
The Lions forged a 16-1 advantage in shots during the first half, but led just 2-0 at the break. Half number two saw the home team blow it wide open with four goals in a nine-minute span. MSJ tacked on two more late in the match on the way to an 8-0 victory over the Beavers.
Mount St. Joseph fired away with a marked 36-3 advantage in total shots, including 24-2 on frame. The Lions forced all six corner kicks, while Bluffton was whistled for four more fouls (9-5).
Freshman Madison Kutscher (Rossford) piled up 10 saves over the first 64 minutes before junior Sydney Sherick (Findlay/Van Buren) added five more stops during the final 26 minutes.
Junior Morgan Jarvis (Powell/Dublin Scioto) and sophomores Reece Lawler (Vandalia/Butler) and Parker Penhorwood (Bellefontaine) charted shots for the visitors.
