TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team fell to 7-10 and 2-6 in the Heartland Conference following a 4-0 setback at Rose-Hulman on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025. With the loss, Blufton (six points) saw its chances of a top 6 finish and conference tournament berth come to an end as Earlham's 1-1 tie with Hanover gave the Quakers 10 points heading into the final regular season matches on Tuesday.
Rose-Hulman did not allow a shot in the first 45 minutes, scoring four times on 14 shots as the Engineers put it on ice after just one half. The home team finished with a 21-2 edge in total shots, including 13-1 on frame. Bluffton was called for five more fouls (7-2), while RHIT forced 11 of the 12 corner kicks on Saturday.
Freshman Madison Kutscher (Rossford) turned away four Rose shots, while junior Sydney Sherick (Findlay/Van Buren) tallied three saves in the second half.
Sophomores Katie Singleton (Hamilton/Badin) and Kate Stephens (Trenton/Edgewood) ripped one shot apiece for visitors.
Bluffton will tie a bow on its 2025 season when the Beavers travel to Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Kickoff in Cincinnati is scheduled for 7 p.m. under the lights.
