BEREA, Ky. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Berea College on a hot Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025. Bluffton fell to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference, while Berea improved to 6-4 an 1-1 in HCAC play.

Bluffton took nine of the 15 shot in the first half, but the Mountaineers launched the two biggest with net finders in minutes 14 and 39 on the way to a 2-0 lead at the break. The first half tallies proved to be the only ones scored as Berea picked up its first conference win of the season.

The visitors finished with a slim 14-12 edge in total shots, but Berea put two more on frame (8-6). The Beavers were called for twice as many fouls (10-5), while Bluffton forced five of the six corner kicks.

Sophomores Brysan Brewer (Middletown) and Reece Lawler (Vandalia/Butler) paced the Beavers with four and three shots, respectively. Freshman Madison Kutscher (Rossford) turned away six Berea shot attempts on Saturday afternoon.

The Beavers are back on the road Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Richmond, Ind. for a 3:30 p.m. matchup with Earlham College.
