NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team stunned Muskingum University with two goals in the final eight minutes for a 2-1 victory on a muggy Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025. The visitors improved to 2-3 on the season, while Muskingum slipped to 1-5 overall.
The Fighting Muskies scored with just over 15 minutes to play in the opening stanza and that was the lone tally during the first 45 minutes.
It was still 1-0 Musky until Katie Singleton (Hamilton/Badin) connected with Kate Stephens (Trenton/Edgewood) for the equalizer at the 82:04 mark. Singleton was back in the mix four minutes later when she found Morgan Jarvis (Powell/Dublin Scioto) for the game winner with less than four minutes to play!
Freshman Madison Kutscher (Rossford) turned away seven Muskinum shots for her first collegiate victory between the pipes.
Reece Lawler (Vandalia/Butler) fired a team-high four shots, while Stephens and Brysan Brewer (Middletown) both chipped in with three attempts.
Muskingum finished with a 17-15 edge in total shots, including 7-5 on frame. The visitors were called for five more fouls (8-3), while the Muskies forced one more corner kick (5-4).
Bluffton returns to Salzman Stadium for a 3:30 matchup with Ohio Christian on the grass before the men host Wilmington on the other side of the stadium at 7 p.m.
