SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to St. Mary's College on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025. The Beavers slipped to 1-3 on the season, while SMC stayed perfect at 4-0.
Mia Johnson and Isabella Kreydich combined for three first half goals as the home team tok a 3-0 lead at the break. Two more St. Mary's tallies midway through the second stanza helped the Belles continue their perfect start to the season.
SMC put together a 19-3 edge in total shots, including 10-2 on frame. Bluffton was whistled for nine more fouls (18-9), while the Belles forced eight of the nine corner kicks.
Reece Lawler (Vandalia/Butler), Kate Stephens (Trenton/Edgewood) and Brysan Brewer (Middletown) ripped the three shots for the visitors.
Freshman Madison Kutscher (Rossford) turned away three shot attempts in the first stanza and sophomore Sydney Sherick (Findlay/Van Buren) added two saves in the final period.
Bluffton is off until next Saturday, Sept. 13, when the Beavers travel to Muskingum for a 1 p.m. battle with the Fighting Muskies.
