BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Beavers traveled down to Cedarville for the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Challenge on a warm Friday evening. It featured schools from Division I, II, III and NAIA.
Starting off the night was the women's team who were led by sophomore Sara Smith (Mansfield/Madison Comprehensive) who crossed the line in 25:09, besting her time by 40 seconds from this course last season. Fellow Sophomore Kamryn McDonald (Marion/Harding) crossed the line next for the Beavers in a time of 31:44. Freshman Katie Garrison (Caledonia/River Valley) rounded out the squad with a time of 33:39.
The men's took off next and were led by senior Jarrod Roudebush (Coshocton) who had a huge night for the team, running a 35-second career PR and breaking the 28-minute barrier for the first time ever with a time of 27:57. Junior Micah Dodson (Wooster/Central Christian) also came home with a new PR, running 31:18, which was two minutes faster than what he ran on this course last year. Sophomore Kaden McWatters (Genoa/Genoa Area) rounded out the men's unit with a time of 31:12.
"I thought both teams really competed well," said Head Coach Connor Gulick. "We had some good breakthroughs and really starting to see the confidence grow from the work this group has been putting in."
The Beavers will have a week off from racing before picking back up at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on Friday, Oct. 3.
