Armentrout named assistant coach for Beavers

Kelly Armentrout, a Beaver alum, returns to the village to pursue her Master's in Business Administration and aide Head Coach Steve Yarnell for the next two seasons as his graduate assistant.

Armentrout returns to her alma mater after a season as the assistant coach at Ohio Northern University. She coached under Sophie Windover and helped lead the Polar Bears to a 20-9 record in her first year as a collegiate coach.

Before Ohio Northern, Armentrout played for the Beavers as a middle/right-side hitter. During her career, she was named 3x HCAC-Academic Team and received the Kathryn E. Little Award for Senior Female Athlete of the Year during her final campaign. She also received the AVCA-Demonstrator Scholarship where she traveled to Tampa, Florida, to be a part of the 2023 AVCA Convention. Armentrout was also awarded the J. Denny Award for her academic achievements by her teammates for the 2023 season. She ended her career with 233 kills and 87 blocks.

Armentrout attended Shawnee High School in Lima, Ohio, where she played volleyball. She earned all-conference honors and three varsity letters for the Indians.
