Berea rallies for five-set win over Beavers

BEREA, Ky. - The Bluffton University volleyball team lead two sets to one, but the Mountaineers rallied to take the fourth and fifth sets on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024. Bluffton fell to 16-10 overall and 1-4 in the Heartland Conference, while the home team upped its mark to 6-16 and 2-3 in the HCAC.

Senior Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) put away a career-best 27 winners on Saturday afternoon as she hit a whopping .357 for the match! Barnett also rifled four aces for the Beavers. Sophomore Chloe Sample (Springfield/Catholic Central) piled up 15 kills, while junior Bekah Pack (Lexington) was extremely efficient, smoking nine kills against just one error on only 14 swings for a blistering .571 hitting percentage.

Gabby Williams (West Liberty/West Liberty-Salem) dished out 53 assists and she added three service aces. Freshman Ashlie Nuss (St. Marys/Memorial) picked up a career-high 21 digs for the visitors. Williams and Saniyah Terry (Macomb, MI/L Anse Creuse HS North) chipped in with 17 and 10 digs, respectively.

Bluffton will be back in the Sommer Center for a 6:30 p.m. matchup with Manchester University on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024.
