BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team led two sets to one, but visiting Anderson University rallied to take sets four and five on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024. Bluffton dipped to 16-8 overall and 1-2 in the Heartland Conference, while Anderson improved to 14-4 and 2-1 in the HCAC.
Senior Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) sparked the home team with a whopping 18 kills and a solid .255 hitting percentage. She also was in on a career-best six blocks. Also getting it done on the outside was junior Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) who pounded 14 winner against just four errors. Bekah Pack (Lexington) had a day, smacking eight kills to go along with a career-high nine blocks!
Sophomore signal-caller Gabby Williams (West Liberty/West Liberty-Salem) doled out 40 assists and just missed double figures with nine digs. Abby Lawhorn (Cable/Mechanicsburg) picked up a team-best 23 digs for the Beavers. Kaylei Barnett (Wapakoneta) and Ashlie Nuss (St. Marys/Memorial) did work in the back with 15 pickups apiece, while Saniyah Terry (Macomb, MI/L Anse Creuse HS North) added a dozen digs and three aces.
Bluffton will be back in the Sommer Center for another HCAC matchup with Earlham College on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
