BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team fell to Trine in straight sets on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024. The Thunder impoved to 13-1, while Bluffton slipped to 13-3 on the season.
Senior Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) paced the hitters with 12 kills and a .211 hitting percentage. Junior Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) and Kasey Sager (Troy) added five spikes apiece. Sager hit .267 and stuffed Trine three times on Friday night. Paige Massie (Alvada/Arcadia) fired three aces at the visitors.
Sophomores Mallory Fluharty (Wooster/Triway) and Ella Taylor (Urbana) handed out 14 and 12 assists, respectively. Freshman Saniyah Terry (Macomb, MI/L Anse Creuse HS North) picked up a career-high 18 digs, while sophomore Abby Lawhorn (Cable/Mechanicsburg) added a dozen.
Bluffton gets right back to business on Saturday, Sept. 28, when it travels to Ohio Northern for matchups with Westminster from Pennsylvania and Wheaton from Illinois. The first contest from the King Horn Center is slated for 10 a.m. Ada time.
