Bluffton travels to Ripon College in Wisconsin

RIPON, Wis. - The Beavers hit the road for a long road trip, heading up to Wisconsin for the Dick Hendricks Invite hosted by Ripon College. Even though the Beavers were in a new state, they made it their own on the track.

The men's squad finished 8th and they were led by the 4x200 and 4x400 relays made of up sophomores Hassan Greene (Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop Snyder), Delainta Crawford (Douglasville, Ga./Lithia Springs), Devin Homan (Dayton/Stebbins), and freshman Quince Reese (Killeen, Texas/Ellison) as they finished runner-up in the 4x200 with a time of 1:35.11 and 3rd in the 4x400 with a time of 3:40.42. Crawford also had a PR in the 200 with a time of 24.16. Other PR's from the sprints included Reese in the 60 meters with a time of 7.47 and the 200 with a time of 24.07; Greene in the 200 with a time of 23.96 as well as popping off in long jump with a leap of 5.80 meters; sophomore Keith Dailey (Moody, Texas) in the 200 with a time of 25.53

On the distance side, senior Jarrod Roudebush (Coshocton) made his mile debut on the season and finished in 5:02.43. Junior Micah Dodson (Wooster/Central Christian) had an 11-second PR in the 3k with a time of 11:06.88.

On the throws side, freshman Tony Smith (Toledo/Sylvania Southview) PR'd in the shot put with a heave of 11.65 meters and fellow freshman Jordyn Diaz (Ypsilanti, Mich) continued his PR streak as he also came home with a new PR in shot put with a throw of 8.31 meters. In the weight throw, freshman Thomas Sharper (Sumpter, SC) threw a new best with a mark of 7.00 meters.

The women's side also took 8th on the day, led by runner-up performances from junior Amelia Adams (Celina) in the high jump with a leap of 1.50 which tied her season best and sophomore Sara Smith (Mansfield/Madison Comprehensive) in the 3k with a time of 11:15.76 which was a new PR and put her 5th in school history.

Sophomore Jenna Stewart (Thornville/Sheridan) came home with a new PR of 2:59.50 in just her second race back this season.

In the throws, freshman Alana Alexander-Davis (Sandusky) led the day in shot put with a throw of 8.12 meters and she also made her debut in the weight throw with a toss of 8.53 meters.

The Beavers have one last meet Friday, Feb. 20 at Findlay for the Flag City Tune Up before the HCAC Championships at Mount St Joseph.
