Sydney Fleming is in her first year as a coach for the Bluffton University Swim and Dive program. She is originally from Prescott, WI, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration.
In her high school career, she helped set the 400 free relay, 200 medley relay and the 100 backstroke records at River Falls High School. In her time there, she was a 3x varsity letter participant. She was a state qualifier in the 200 Individual Medley her senior year with the wildcats. She received the highest score award, and she was 2x Second Team All-Conference in her senior year.
She started her collegiate career at Concordia University in St Paul, MN. Her freshman was the first year for the swim and dive program. She was a key athlete with setting the tone and records there. She was named to the Dean’s List her spring semester in the 2021-22 season.
After three years, Fleming transferred to Malone University in Canton, Ohio. There, she was an impact athlete. In her first year at Malone, she finished 8th in the conference for the 200 backstroke which gained her an athlete of the week recognition and a nomination at the Malone Sports Awards for Top Female Performer (MVP). Her second year at Malone she gained three more athlete of the week recognitions, including one after the 2025 GMAC conference. That’s because Fleming placed 6th in the 200 backstroke and 8th in the 100 backstroke in the conference. She also racked up two school records during the 2024-25 season. Those being in the 200 backstroke and 50 backstroke. For those, she was nominated again and won the award for Best Individual Performance at the Malone Sports awards. Her last semester at Malone, Fleming was named on the Dean’s List.
Fleming graduated from Malone with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in coaching.
