Bluffton fires 316 on day one of Beaver Invite

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's golf team was red-hot on Saturday, firing a 316 at the Beaver Fall Classic. The 316 is 3rd all-time for 18 holes and it leaves Bluffton just five strokes behind Heartland Conference rival Mount St. Joseph heading into day two.

Senior Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) shot herself into second place with a sparkling 75 on day one. It is tied for the 5th-best score all-time for a Bluffton woman.

Hope Manning (South Charleston/Southeastern) and Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Bradley) both carded 80's with Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) just one tick back at 81. Fellow sophomore Gabby Green (Beavercreek/Carroll) rounded out the 'A' team scoring with a 92 on Saturday.

Leading the 'B' team was freshman Kendall Van Horn (Wharton/Upper Sandusky) who finished round one with a 90. Keylee Goerss (Hamilton/Talawanda) and Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) went 93 and 95, respectively, while seniors Isabel Miller (Centerville) and Cheyanne Bolden (Sidney) chipped in with a pair of 103's.

Bluffton will go back to work on Sunday morning, looking to win its own Beaver Fall Classic at the Bluffton Golf Club!
