BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University senior Madison Brown (Montpelier/North Central) collected All-Heartland Conference honors for the second straight season. She earned Second Team All-HCAC after being named Honorable Mention All-Heartland as a junior. Also recognized by the conference coaches was Karlie Niekamp (Tipp City/Fort Recovery) who made the All-Newcomer Team.
Brown led the Beavers in both scoring and rebounding despite standing just 5-6! Her 15.6 PPG were 4th in the conference, while Brown's 8.9 RPG were 5th in the HCAC. She missed double figures just three times in 23 games and she went over 20 points five times. The standout senior hit 109-of-136 at the line (80.1 percent). Brown's 109 makes at the stripe led the conference and are 10th all-time for a single season at Bluffton. She doled out 56 assists and picked up 28 steals this season.
For her career, Brown racked up 764 points (24th all-time) despite totaling just 15 through her first two seasons! She finished 4th all-time with a sparkling 80.6 free throw percentage (261-of-324) and her 261 makes are 9th all-time. She ripped down 412 rebounds, doled out 119 assists and picked up 53 steals, primarily over her final two seasons.
Niekamp battled injury all year, but she still thrived on the way to being the first Beaver named to the All-Newcomer Team since Kayla Prigge in 2021-22. She was 3rd on the team with 9.4 PPG and 5.1 RPG. The versatile freshman hit 98-of-238 (41.2 percent) from the field, blocked 12 shots and handed out 19 assists. She started 19 of her 25 games.
2025-26 marked the 12th time in the past 13 years that the Bluffton women have earned entry into the HCAC Tournament.
