Gist qualifies for NCAA Nationals in 110 hurdles

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Beavers took on one last meet to try and qualify for nationals over at Mount Union on Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16.

Junior Coen North (Denver.Colo/North) won the men's Javelin on day one with a toss of 58.17, finishing undefeated on the season. Senior Desmond Gist (Detroit, Mich./Trenton) ran the 110 hurdles, finishing 3rd in the event with a time of 14.82. Senior Russell Lough (Wintersville/Indian Creek) capped off his career in the 400 with a time of 50.26 as well as the 200 with a time of 22.29.

The Beavers will be in action for one more week as Gist officially qualified in the 110 hurdles and will compete for a national title up in Geneva, Ohio at Spire Institute! It marks the fifth time Desmond has qualified for nationals and he is the first Beaver in school history to make it all four years!

Prelims for the 110 hurdles will be at 2:10 p.m. on Friday, May 23, and the finals will be at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 24.
