BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's golf team was led by its veterans on Saturday, August 31, as the Beavers followed their 324 with a 325 at Battle Creek, Mich. Bluffton finished ninth in a challenging field, shooting a 649 for the weekend.
Junior Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) moved into 26 place overall with a 78 on Saturday, giving him a 158 for the tournament. Freshman Jack Wyant (Mansfield/Lexington) was just off Macke's pace with a 160 (77-83).
Firing on all cylinders Saturday was sophomore Carson Brubaker (Shelby) who shot a team-best 77 which gave him a 161 for 36 holes. Freshmen Drake Sommer (Montpelier) and Jackson Eichler (Atwater/Waterloo) wrapped up the weekend with scores of 170 and 174.
Bluffton will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 14, when they travel to Richmond, Ind., for the Earlham Forest Hills Invite.
