Beavers pick up first win of spring season against Harrisburg, 3-1

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton Beavers rocket league team kicked off the spring season in double-header fashion, going up against the Seminole State College Raiders and the Harrisburg University Storm. The Beavers would battle in round one, but the Raiders would pull away for a 3-0 sweep to give Bluffton their first loss of the season. After a short break, the Beavers would regroup and get in a solid rhythm on offense as they would cruise to a 3-1 win over the Storm. Following the split, Bluffton now sits at a 1-1 record heading into week three of the regular season. 

After a tight battle to start the contest against Seminole State College, a late goal in the final seconds allowed the Raiders to take round one, 3-2. The late goal fueled the momentem for Seminole State as they cruised to a 7-0 win in round two before finishing off the sweep with a 4-1 win in round three, as they handed the Beavers their first loss of the season. 

Bluffton would come out firing in the second game of the evening, soaring to a 6-3 win in the opening round. They would then go up 2-0 in the contest after a 3-2 victory in round two against the Storm. The Beavers would fall behind 4-1 in round three, but would fight back and come within one as they trailed 6-5 in the final seconds. As the clocked ticked to zero, Bluffton's final shot attempt would come just inches shy of the goal as Harrisburg would take round three 6-5, making it a 2-1 game in favor of the Beavers. Bluffton would shutout the Storm in the final round, and after scoring a pair of goals in the round, they would take the final round 2-0 to seal the 3-1 victory. 

The Beavers will look ahead to the next contest as they go up against the Howard University Esports B Rocket League squad, which is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
