By: Colton Steiner

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton Beavers Rocket League squad would go head-to-head with the no. 2 seed in the division, the University of St. Francis Fighting Saints. Despite a strong start for Bluffton, the opponent managed to settle the score as they would answer by winning three straight games to take the match in a final score of 3-1. The Beavers will fall to 2-5 on the season, while USF finishes off their regular season with a record of 6-2 heading into the postseason.

After starting the contest off with a from the Beavers, they would add a second with less than a minute left to go up 2-0 in game one. While the Fighting Saints would add a goal of their own, it would be too late as Bluffton would take the first game 2-1 to take a 1-0 lead. The goal from game one got USF going, as they would find a groove, cruising to back-to-back game wins with a 4-1 win in game two and a 4-2 victory over the Beavers in the third game. Down 2-1, Bluffton would put up a fight, starting the fourth game with a 1-0 lead. The lead would be short lived as two straight goals from the Fighting Saints would be the difference maker as they would take the fourth and final game in a score of 2-1, sealing the 3-1 victory for USF.

With playoffs out of reach, the Beavers will look to close out their season on a high note as they will go up against Coffeyville Community College on Thursday, Nov. 6 with tipoff at 8:30 p.m. You can watch all of Bluffton's esports matches on Twitch at twitch.tv/blufftonesports.
