BLUFFTON, Ohio - Graduate student Adam Duncan (Northwood/Lake) was named the Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week after powering the Beavers to a sweep at Rose-Hulman in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament!
Duncan hit .625 with five hits in eight at-bats over the weekend. He was 4-of-5 with five RBI and an intentional walk in Bluffton's 11-10 11-inning victory on Friday night and he followed that up with a 3-run homer in the 2nd inning of Bluffton's 9-7 win on Saturday as the Beavers snapped a 20-game losing streak at the hands of the Engineers. Duncan finished the week with a 1.125 slugging percentage and a ridiculous .727 on-base percentage. He drove in eight runs and scored four times.
The Beavers will return to action on Thursday, May 20, when Bluffton travels to Lexington, Ky. for the five-team double elimination portion of the Heartland Conference Tournament. Bluffton takes on Anderson at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday in the opening game of the day. A victory over the Ravens would pit Bluffton against top-seeded and tournament host Transylvania at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday night.
